AI for Every Domain

The Advanced Research Center for Cross-Disciplinary AI (AI4X Research Center) has been officially operating at National Taipei University since August 1, 2026. As a university-level platform, it connects research strengths in law, business, public affairs, humanities and social sciences, sustainability, and information technology, advancing cross-disciplinary research, shared resources, industry–academia collaboration, and responsible AI.

In this first phase the center is prioritizing cross-college research matchmaking, mapping campus AI capacity, data governance, computing support, and collaboration channels, and will progressively launch cross-domain seed projects and academic exchange.

What does AI4X mean?

AI has moved from pure algorithm research (AI Core) toward deep fusion with applications (AI Application). AI4X (AI for Everything / Cross-domain) is a two-way cycle, not merely applying AI as a statistical tool to other fields.

Under AI4X, the center helps materials science shorten the development cycle of new materials, supports precise public-health tracking in smart healthcare, and helps the humanities reconstruct heritage sites with digital twins. In return, disciplinary knowledge optimizes AI itself: linguists refine language-model grammar, legal scholars embed privacy protection into algorithms, and psychologists help build more empathetic human–AI interfaces.

This deep interweaving gives rise to emerging sub-fields such as digital medicine, AI jurisprudence, and computational humanities, reshaping the university's academic map.

Drive AI transformation across law, business, public affairs, social science, humanities, sustainability, and electrical & computer engineering, while deepening core technologies: machine learning, LLMs, GenAI, agentic AI, and physical AI.

Cultivating cross-domain talent with an "AI gene"

A three-tier talent pyramid (AI literacy for all, AI4X applied specialists, and frontier R&D elites), combined with project-based, industry-posed problem solving and Responsible AI at the core.

Building an industry–academia co-creation platform

Turn lab results into patents and commercial technology, host joint labs for "real problems, real solutions," and accelerate the upgrade of local industry.

National-level projects & international academic influence

Win large integrated grants (e.g. NSTC AI Center of Excellence), attract top global scholars, and raise publications at premier venues such as NeurIPS, ICML, and CVPR.
