NTPU AI4X, the Advanced Research Center for Cross-Disciplinary AI, is a university-level research center at National Taipei University, officially operating since August 1, 2026. It unites research strengths in business, law, public affairs, the humanities and social sciences, sustainability, and information technology to advance AI's integration across academic disciplines.
Built around four pillars: cross-disciplinary research, shared resources, university-industry co-creation, and responsible AI. The Center fosters cross-college collaboration and academia-industry ties, creating an open, sustainable, and forward-looking environment for AI research.
Through frontier research, talent development, industry collaboration, and international engagement, NTPU AI4X expands the frontiers of AI research, strengthens NTPU's academic impact, and builds an internationally visible presence in cross-disciplinary AI.

AI has moved from pure algorithm research (AI Core) toward deep fusion with applications (AI Application). AI4X (AI for Everything / Cross-domain) is a two-way cycle, not merely applying AI as a statistical tool to other fields.
Under AI4X, the center helps materials science shorten the development cycle of new materials, supports precise public-health tracking in smart healthcare, and helps the humanities reconstruct heritage sites with digital twins. In return, disciplinary knowledge optimizes AI itself: linguists refine language-model grammar, legal scholars embed privacy protection into algorithms, and psychologists help build more empathetic human–AI interfaces.
This deep interweaving gives rise to emerging sub-fields such as digital medicine, AI jurisprudence, and computational humanities, reshaping the university's academic map.
